The polygonal screen rotates about a horizontal shaft, ensuring more stable operation compared with screens rotating about an inclined shaft.
The rotational speed of the screen drum is designed close to the ball mill principle. Material falls from the sand inlet and is repeatedly flipped and impacted inside the polygonal screen drum, achieving fine crushing and screening of used sand lumps, with a used sand recovery rate of 99.7%.
The screening area consists of two zones with different functions:
a. The first zone is made of special steel plates bolted to the screen drum, which crushes sand lumps without damaging the screen mesh.
b. The second zone consists of two sets of manganese steel meshes with different aperture sizes and special profiles, balancing both crushing and screening efficiency.
A top air extraction systems provides a certain cooling effect for hot sand.
